It has been cleaned, but ink stains inside the converter of the slip-on type could not be removed. Initials are engraved on the barrel. There are signs of wear and usage typical of a second-hand item, but there are no major issues that will hinder writing.

The nib is 14K 585 M. Each nib was individually adjusted by Pilot's technical advisor, Mr. Osaka.
The push-button ink filling system, now familiar as con-70, was developed for this model.
Moreover, the nib lineage following the old Custom and the current Custom Kaede was first introduced with this model. As a concept model for Pilot fountain pens since the 1980s, it holds historical value.
